Read on for a Q&A with Anthony about the course, and his advice for learners.
Q: What was your favorite Nugget to create?
A: My favorite Nugget to create was the "Backup and Recovery Tools" Nugget. Fellow CBT Nuggets trainer Keith Barker was in town visiting me during this Nugget creation and we were discussing just how fun the Nugget creation process is. For this particular Nugget, I could not wait to review the many backup and recovery tools that are BUILT into Windows 7 and demonstrate how to use them. One of the tools in particular, the Disk Imaging tool, I was sorely needing to use to ensure my own continued productivity.
Q: What roadblocks did you come across when creating this training and how did you overcome them?
A: It is VERY easy to confuse versions and editions of Microsoft Windows. I found myself having to constantly check which features were available in Windows 7, and in which versions of the software.
Q: From a student-perspective, what did you keep in mind when creating this course?
A: I realize that students want to make the most of their Windows experience right away with this course. So there was no wasted time at all — just great information and demonstrations to enjoy.
Q: Any outside-of-the-box tips for students to get the most out of your course?
A: As I mentioned in the course, students should really consider a non-production lab environment. It is so easy to set up, especially when one considers the evaluation software that can be used free of charge from Microsoft.
Q: What's the ONE thing you hope learners take away from this training?
A: Leveraging the incredible power built into Windows 7.
Q: What's one real-world application someone can expect to use, thanks to this course?
A: Students will be able to maintain their Windows 7 environment problem-free. In fact, Windows 7 will remain their favorite Microsoft OS for a great time to come.
