Q: Why should companies train their IT professionals in this technology? What value does it bring? This course covers some of the most important topics in the Information Technology area! Those topics include Windows operating systems, other operating systems and technologies, security, software troubleshooting, and key IT operational procedures. The hands-on labs, skills, and processes taught in this course can save companies a vast amount of time and money as their employees can more efficiently and effectively support workstations and the networks that power them. This course also introduces key mobile topics such as BYOD (bring your own device) and security.
Q: From a learner perspective, what did you keep in mind when creating this course? I wanted to really keep things incredibly efficient for the learners. From finding the exact topic they need in the course to mastering the material once they locate it. I also really wanted to demonstrate just how fun the material can be, even if we are discussing what might seem like the most mundane subjects.
Q: Any out-of-the-box tips for learners to get the most out of your training? I am not sure how "out of the box" this suggestion is anymore, but I would encourage our learners to use practice labs as much as they can. I demonstrate carefully in this course how easy it is to build a fully functional lab machine using one computer and then using a bunch of free/evaluation software. Following along as much as possible is wonderful.
Q: What's one real-world application someone can expect to use, thanks to this course? This entire course is real world. Honestly. This is one of those courses that really has no "fluff." Everything covered here is critical for the mastery of modern IT in today's small to enterprise networks.
Q: Which was your favorite Nugget to create? My favorite Nuggets to create were those showing operating systems off that maybe all of our viewers are not familiar with. For example, if they are Windows users and Android phone users, I had so much fun demonstrating Mac, Linux, and the iPhone.
Q: What's one thing you hope learners take away from this course? I hope that learners leave this course with an incredible passion to learn more about IT. This course serves as an incredible stepping stone to a fun and rewarding lifetime career. While it is a challenging path at times, it should never be looked at as boring!
