When thinking about productivity, there’s an important historical lesson from the 1890s to consider. As new, smaller electric machines replaced old steam-powered ones in the United States, factories saw no major change in productivity. The reason? The new machines were placed in the exact same places as the old ones and the benefits of assembly-line production weren’t realized. The lesson is that new technologies shouldn’t be used like better versions of old technologies — that ignores their true potential. This Maximizing Productivity training is designed to put you in the frame of mind to recognize the physical and digital opportunities that can make you and your company more productive and efficient.

The two-part series covers topics such as developing strategies that address short-term and long-term needs, inventorying the technologies and tools that are available to maximize productivity, and incorporating new physical and digital processes into existing workflows as well as:

The two skills that comprise this series are:

  • Working Effectively from Home
