New Training: Juniper Spanning Tree Protocol (STP)
In this 10-video, intermediate training, CBT Nuggets trainer Knox Hutchinson covers the knowledge network administrators need to manage, administer and troubleshoot the spanning tree protocol on Juniper devices, ensuring an efficient and accurate link tree.
The Spanning Tree Protocol is a brilliant technical solution to a very complicated problem. The result of its complex algorithm is a map of every last link that comprises a network. But its true brilliance lies in its ability to recognize links that cause loops in the network and disable them in the tree. These loops are there for redundancy, but they’d wreak havoc in trying to create a tree of all links in the network.
This Juniper Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) training exposes the functionality of STP on Juniper devices and puts the power of the protocol, as well as the troves of data it generates, into the hands of trained network administrators.
The one-part series covers topics such as understanding the different uses of STP on different Juniper router models, managing and using the unique commands on Juniper devices, and specifying extended system identifiers for Junos.
