What is the Azure Key Vault?
The Microsoft Azure Key Vault is a Microsoft Azure Cloud-native service that allows users to store sensitive data in an Azure cloud vault for off-site protection purposes. The Microsoft Azure Key Vault is primarily used to store passwords, sensitive information, certificates, and other sensitive secrets that you are looking to protect in an off-premise environment.
One of the greatest benefits that organizations and individual users gain through using this service is the centralized access, management, and access control of sensitive data. By using the Azure Key Vault, users gain advanced access control capabilities that limit how data in the Azure Key Vault is accessed, how it's distributed, who has access to what within the Azure Key Vault, and how it can be transferred. This advanced cloud-based access management tool can remove the inherent challenges associated with proliferating sensitive data into various locations where organizations lose control of how data is managed, shared, and protected.
