What are the Benefits of an Event-Driven Architecture?
Event-Driven Architecture has become a growingly popular cloud-native architecture approach designed to prioritize real-time communication between event producers and event consumers. The idea behind an event-driven architectural approach is to loosely couple the microservice producing an event and those services receiving the event. In doing so, event consumers can access event notifications nearly instantaneously.
By comparison, polling architecture makes it challenging for services to get event data in real-time, and can cause polling congestion issues and increase latency in an environment. As organizations move to a more interconnected microservice architecture, an event-driven architecture approach will not only enhance real-time communication between services but will also remove complex polling challenges enhancing ease-of-use and scalability.
