What is the Azure App Service and How Does It Support Development?
The Microsoft Azure App Service is an Azure cloud-native service that provides a fully managed platform that allows organizations to build, deploy, test, and scale web applications natively in the cloud. This cloud-native platform provides organizations with tremendous flexibility, scalability, and cost savings as they migrate from an on-premises development architecture.
Flexibility is one of the greatest values of adopting a public cloud development strategy and leveraging a service like the Azure App Service. Azure provides an App Service migration Assistant to facilitate the migration of .NET web apps, allowing for easy integration with Git, GitHub Actions, Atlassian BitBucket, Azure DevOps, Docker Hub, and others.
Scale is another incredible value presented by public cloud architecture with such services as Azure App Services. Azure App Services provide a contractual SLA of 99.95 percent, provide cloud-native testing, patching, integrate with services such as Active Directory, and even help maintain compliance due to how the Azure App Services is maintained.
