What is a Conference Bridge?
A conference bridge is a type of remote meeting that happens over an organization's phone system. It lets employees and external parties dial into a virtual meeting using their phone and are vital for organizations that have large geographical footprints. Conference bridges can allow a nearly unlimited number of meeting participants. Though the exact number is dependent on the phone system.
You can secure meetings made through a conference bridge using a PIN, which can be the same for all participants or individualized for each one.
While it is possible to create a conference bridge using a traditional phone network, this can be very expensive. A more cost-effective way of doing this is through either VoIP (voice over Internet protocol) or through a cloud-based system. Cisco can even natively offer call recording and transcription.
