New Course: CompTIA Cloud Essentials

CBT Nuggets trainer Anthony Sequeira recently released his new Cloud Essentials course, completing a series of courses preparing you for the CompTIA Cloud Essentials certification. He addresses all of the concepts, terminology, and technology covered in the Cloud Essentials exam.

In this 22-video course, Anthony prepares non-technical learners for using cloud technologies in their businesses and addresses the technical challenges for running cloud applications, while also giving you the skills and knowledge to pass the CompTIA Cloud Essentials certification.

We asked Anthony about his new course and how you can get more out of your training.

Q: Who should use the CompTIA Cloud Essentials training?

Cloud Essentials is an excellent course for any IT professional or enterprise manager who might need essential knowledge of cloud characteristics and business impacts. Of course, with the importance of cloud today, this means just about everyone should take this course. Even those IT staffs that have been working with cloud technologies for years might benefit from this course, as they might not be well-versed on the business implications of these technologies.

Q: Why should someone not directly installing the technology care about the technical benefits (and challenges) of cloud applications?

The technical benefits of cloud can directly impact the bottom line for expenses and revenues the company can achieve. At the same time, cloud can also dramatically increase risks to the business. It is for these reasons that this course should be viewed by just about anyone today in an important role within their organization.

Q: What's the difference between Cloud Essentials and Cloud+?

Cloud Essentials is a concise course that provides a very high-level look into cloud technologies and the business impacts of cloud. Cloud+ takes a much more detailed look at cloud technologies and would be too specific and technical for many potential viewers. Cloud+ is currently being modified and updated by CompTIA for a new release in 2018. When that takes place, I plan on creating that course for CBT Nuggets.

Q: Any out-of-the-box tips for learners to get the most out of this course?

Learners should get ready to have some fun! Seriously! Cloud technologies are so incredibly interesting.

Q: What's the most important thing you hope learners take away from this course?

I hope that learners will have a newfound respect for cloud. It is NOT just an industry buzzword or marketing catch phrase with no real benefit. Cloud can totally permit the breaking of new ground within an organization, and can actually mean the difference between an organization surviving and thriving or failing in today's complex business landscape.
