Why Business Always Use the Same Model of Laptop

The IT environment for organizations has become incredibly complex. IT professionals are tasked with not only managing information networks and servers but end-user computers as well. Managing and supporting end-users is arguably one of the most time-consuming tasks that IT professionals will face. So, it's important for IT admins to reduce as many variables in the support environment as possible. This includes creating a standardized approach to managing and deploying computers throughout the business.

Organizations routinely only purchase a single model of computer per business requirement. By doing this, IT professionals can use tools like Microsoft's Deployment Toolkit to create standard install images for these devices. These standard install images can be configured with driver sets that are known to work properly with the software the business needs, additional applications for end-users, specific required updates, and even Windows configurations. Once created, these images can be installed on laptops through a variety of means like through a PXE environment or via USB sticks.
