What is Hyper-V?
Hyper-V is a Windows feature that lets you run virtual machines (VMs) on a single device. These VMs function as independent systems, complete with their own operating system, while sharing the resources of the device, such as CPU, storage and memory. Each VM that you run operates in its own isolated space, allowing you to run multiple VMs at the same time.
You can use Hyper-V to create or build upon a private cloud. This can provide your users with more flexible on-demand IT services, as you can adjust utilization of them as demand changes. You can also use Hyper-V to create or build upon a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). This creates a centralized desktop strategy that can simplify the managing of operating systems and applications while providing a host of other benefits. Hyper-V can further help you use hardware more effectively, by consolidating servers and workloads on a few powerful devices.
