Managing Certificates For vEdge Devices With vManage
Managing security certificates for vEdge devices in the software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) is an important task to ensure secure communication between devices in the network. Each vEdge device is required to have a certificate assigned to it to function properly. Let's take a quick look at the overall management functions of these certificates.
Certificates for the SD-WAN devices can be configured and deployed from the vManage dashboard. The vManage dashboard conveniently lists certificates for individual devices as well as the status for those certificates. These configurations can be found on the Controllers Tab in the vManage NMS.
vEdge devices require that their serial numbers are registered to work properly as well. This can also be managed by the vManage NMS. Once the serial numbers are registered, the vManage software can push those configurations out to the proper devices.
To see which certificates are valid, use the Certificates tab in the Configurations tab in the vManage software. This area will show which certificates are valid, invalid, or in the process of being staged.
