What is the AWS Cloud Practitioner Exam?

The AWS Cloud Practitioner exam is for IT professionals who are not necessarily highly technical. It is perfect for those such as product and project managers as well as executives, who are looking to improve their knowledge of AWS without getting into the nitty-gritty of how to implement and manage it.

Before preparing for the exam, it is recommended that you have at least 6 months of experience with AWS as well as a basic understanding of the major services that it provides. After completing the exam, you will have a thorough working knowledge of these services. You will not only understand exactly what they provide but also know how they relate to each other.

The exam covers the following:

  • Basic cloud concepts

  • AWS cloud security

  • AWS technology

  • Billing and prices of AWS services

After completing the AWS Cloud Practitioner exam, many proceed to AWS Associate-level certifications. This includes Solutions Architect, Developer and SysOps Administrator.
