For IT leaders
What IT leaders need to know before assigning this course
Many organizations run more of their infrastructure on AWS each year, yet permissions, network design, and recovery planning are often learned on the job. That gap shows up as over-permissioned IAM roles, architectures that can't absorb a traffic spike, and disaster recovery plans with no defined RTO or RPO.
This course gives IT Directors and Team Leads a shared architectural baseline for the team. It starts with account structure and IAM, which the instructor calls mandatory to tackle up front. It then covers VPCs, EC2 scaling, web scale design, encryption, least privilege, containers, data services, disaster recovery, billing analysis, and monitoring.
Role fit: Best for cloud admins and IT Practitioners with about a year of hands-on AWS experience. Engineers new to APIs or containers are eased in, though the course is not a cloud primer.
Time investment: About 35 hours across 36 skills of roughly 50–75 minutes each. Learners can complete one skill per sitting without long blocks away from production work.
Risk and compliance framing: Least privilege, multi-tiered security, encryption, and CloudWatch monitoring give your team a common language for security design, operational visibility, and recovery planning.
Change management: Instructor demos are hands-on in the AWS console and CLI. Plan for sandbox accounts so learners can build and tear down resources safely.
