For IT leaders
What IT leaders need to know before assigning this course
Development teams that know a front-end framework but have never shipped a secured, multi-user application often leave gaps between the UI, the API, and the database. Those gaps show up as unprotected endpoints, out-of-sync user records, and production errors. This course closes those gaps by walking IT practitioners through a complete MERN stack build (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js) with Firebase Auth layered across the front end and back end.
Role fit: Best for web developers and Team Leads who own customer-facing or internal apps. Catalog positioning is foundational. However, the project sections build on React concepts covered earlier, so learners new to React should review React fundamentals before starting the build.
Time investment: Plan for roughly 28 hours per learner across about 50-minute sessions. That works out to about one session per workday over six to seven weeks.
Risk and security relevance: A large share of the course covers authentication, route protection, endpoint and WebSocket protection, and user permissions. Your team practices controlling who can access which data, not just how to display it.
Change-management note: The second half is one continuous note-sharing app build. Learners should progress in order rather than sample individual sessions.
Training Managers can assign the course through Playlists to keep the sequence intact and use Team Reporting to track each developer's progress through the build.
