For IT leaders
What IT leaders need to know before assigning this course
For IT leaders: Low-code apps and flows often spread faster than the governance around them. Business units build Power Apps on SharePoint lists, automate tasks with Power Automate, and publish Power Pages sites. Without planned environments, security roles, and clear controls, that growth creates risk.
This course prepares IT practitioners and functional consultants to deliver Power Platform solutions with controls built in:
- Separate environments for development, testing, and departments.
- Role-based app access and security-group access.
- Power Platform administration concepts for managing settings and configuration.
- Power Pages security topics, including secure sites, web roles, page permissions, and authentication options.
Role fit: Best for team members with about a year of low-code experience, or consultants validating Microsoft 365 skills for PL-200. If someone is new to the platform, consider having them complete PL-900 first.
Time investment: About 7 hours across 9 skills per learner. That covers security, canvas and model-driven apps, data models, Power Pages, Power Automate flows, and business value.
Change-management notes: Learners need a practice tenant. The instructor recommends a Microsoft 365 E5 or E3 license. Premium Power Automate actions require additional licensing, so plan sandbox access before assigning the course.
Team Leads can add this course to Playlists alongside related Microsoft 365 training. Team Reporting helps Training Managers track progress toward PL-200 readiness.
