Microsoft Certified: AI Business Professional (AB-730)

Rolling out Copilot is not the same as adopting it. Without training, people write vague prompts, get weak results, and give up on the tool. They may also use AI features in ways that conflict with company policy. This course gives IT Directors and Training Managers a standard baseline for Microsoft 365 Copilot use across the organization, aligned to the Microsoft AB-730 AI Business Professional exam.

Role fit: This is entry-level training for end users, administrators, and business professionals who already work in Microsoft 365. It works well as part of a company-wide Copilot rollout. IT Practitioners who support those users will also get admin-center context through course demos that show how Copilot fits into a Microsoft 365 environment.

Time investment: Plan for about 5.6 hours per learner across seven skills. These cover prompting, Pages and Notebooks, Word and PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Teams, and agents. The first skill can be reviewed before Team Leads assign the course.

Risk and change-management notes: The course covers the secure, compliant Copilot experience tied to work accounts. It teaches Microsoft's prompt framework of context, goal, expectations, and source. It also introduces pre-built Copilot agents and walks through creating and sharing a simple agent. The instructor is candid about features that don't always deliver, which helps set realistic expectations. Demos run in a fictitious tenant, and end-of-skill challenge questions reinforce what each skill covers and help prepare learners for the exam.

They also learn how to prepare clean data, such as formatting it as a table and removing duplicates first.

After completing this training, IT teams and Microsoft 365 users can apply Copilot consistently across daily workflows and prepare for the AB-730 AI Business Professional exam.
