How does the BIG-IP LTM work?

F5's BIG-IP LTM manages the traffic between clients and users requesting applications and the servers that host them. Predefined rules help the traffic manager direct requests to the appropriate virtual servers which helps manage load balancing, SSL offloading and app-specific policies that would otherwise risk clogging network resources. The LTM virtual servers interact directly with backend servers to maintain performance, scalability and security requirements, which the LTM continuously monitors.

Who should earn the BIG-IP LTM certification?

The BIG-IP LTM Specialist certification is a good career move for network administrators, system engineers and IT professionals who interact with managing application delivery and app delivery infrastructures. The F5 Certified Administrator is a mandatory prerequisite for the BIG-IP LTM, so you'll want to have extensive familiarity with the F5 family of products.
