For professional-level network administrators and network architects, there aren’t many certifications that are as worth it as the CCNP Enterprise Advanced Routing and Services. Passing it only gets you half-way to earning the CCNP Enterprise certification, but it’s still definitely worth it.

Is the CCNP Enterprise Advanced Routing and Services exam the same as the CCNP Enterprise?

No, the Cisco CCNP Enterprise Advanced Routing and Services exam is just one of the six concentration exams that you can take on the way to earning the CCNP Enterprise certification. Earning the CCNP Enterprise requires you pass at least two exams: the core exam and any one of six concentrations. The CCNP Enterprise Advanced Routing and Services concentration exam covers advanced routing and infrastructure technologies and expands on topics covered in the core exam.

How many exams are there in CCNP enterprise?

In total, there are seven exams in the CCNP Enterprise, but you only need to take two. The only mandatory exam is the core exam -- 350-401 ENCOR. Besides that, you choose which of the six concentration exams you take. The CCNP Enterprise Advanced Routing and Services exam code is 300-410 ENARSI, and it’s the concentration exam that many network architects choose if they know they won’t be working very much with wireless, automation or SD-WAN networks.

How much does the Cisco CCNP Enterprise Advanced Routing and Services cost?

The CCNP Enterprise Advanced Routing and Services exam costs $300. The exam code is 300-410, it’s a 90-minute exam that covers advanced routing and services at the enterprise level. You can pay the $300 and take the CCNP Enterprise Advanced Routing and Services at any time, since there are no prerequisites. However, earning the CCNP Enterprise will cost you at least $700, since the core exam that’s required to earn the certification costs $400.

Is the Cisco CCNP Enterprise Advanced Routing and Services difficult?

Yes, the CCNP Enterprise Advanced Routing and Services exam is difficult. All of Cisco’s professional-level certification exams are notoriously challenging and the 350-401 ENCOR is hard too. Cisco recommends at least five years of experience working as a network engineer or network designer before attempting the CCNP Enterprise Advanced Routing and Services because it’s so hard. You won’t want to go into the exam without thorough training in advanced protocols, services and configuration.
