For IT leaders
What IT leaders need to know before assigning this course
Wi-Fi issues often arrive as "the network is slow." Teams without a solid grasp of RF behavior and 802.11 operations tend to guess, make unnecessary site visits, and redesign after rollout. This vendor-neutral course gives IT teams a shared foundation for deploying, validating, and troubleshooting WLANs.
Role fit: The course is built for network administrators with at least a year of wireless experience. It also suits experienced admins who want to validate their skills. Team Leads can use it to onboard new network admins or keep it as a networking reference.
Time investment: The course has 47 skills and about 42 hours of video, so plan for several weeks per learner. The first half covers RF and 802.11 MAC theory. The second half moves to architectures, PoE, design, security, validation, and troubleshooting.
Risk and readiness: Topics include:
- Choosing between WPA2/WPA3 Personal and Enterprise
- Using out-of-band management and segmentation
- Validating wireless coverage and performance before full rollout
- Testing with multiple client devices before full rollout
These practices reduce surprises after deployment.
Change management: Instruction stays vendor-neutral, so the concepts apply across mixed wireless environments and different access point, controller, and switching implementations. The troubleshooting skills teach a structured isolation process, including remote checks before anyone goes on-site.
Review sessions with quizzes close out all domains so learners can find weak areas before a certification attempt. IT Directors and Training Managers can also curate these skills into individual or team training plans.
