For IT leaders
What IT leaders need to know before assigning this course
Infrastructure built by hand through consoles and one-off scripts is hard to repeat, hard to scale, and hard to audit. When dev and production drift apart, outages and escalations follow. This course shows IT teams how to replace manual provisioning with version-controlled Terraform code, and it prepares them for the HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate (003) exam.
Role fit: This is associate-level training for DevOps admins and IT Practitioners who provision cloud infrastructure. Team Leads who own deployment standards will also benefit from the skills on team workflows and repeatable infrastructure practices.
Time investment: About 30 hours across 30 skills. Core concepts like state, modules, CLI, and Terraform Cloud come first. Separate AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud tracks follow, so Team Leads can assign only the providers the organization uses.
Risk and governance: Training covers remote state backends, configuration validation, and linting practices for catching issues before deployment. It also covers GitOps-style workflows with GitHub Actions, which give teams a reviewable history of infrastructure changes for audits.
Change management: Most organizations already have cloud resources deployed. Dedicated skills on importing existing AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud resources let teams bring current infrastructure under Terraform gradually, without rebuilding it. This makes adoption realistic for brownfield environments.
