Cisco CCNP Collaboration Core (350-801 CLCOR) v2.0

Collaboration outages, poor call quality, expired or misconfigured certificates, and loose dial-plan controls create real business risk for organizations that run on Cisco Unified Communications. This intermediate course gives collaboration teams a shared, protocol-level understanding of how CUCM, Webex App calling, SIP, QoS, and secure media work together. It also covers how to keep these systems stable.

Built for collaboration engineers, voice specialists, and senior support staff, the training covers high availability, disaster recovery, and CUCM upgrades. It also covers X.509 certificates, LDAP and SSO integration, SRTP, endpoint provisioning, call routing, and toll fraud prevention. Learners finish able to configure dial-plan components, deploy endpoints manually or in bulk, and build QoS policies. They can also troubleshoot DNS, NTP, LDAP, DHCP, registration, SIP call flow, and dial-plan issues using RTMT traces.

At roughly 63 hours, this is a substantial investment that IT Directors and Training Managers can phase by operational domain: security, routing, endpoint deployment, troubleshooting, and QoS. Virtual Labs provide hands-on QoS practice with class maps, policy maps, policing, shaping, and WRED. Playlists and Team Reporting help leaders sequence modules and track completion across the team.

For IT leaders

What IT leaders need to know before assigning this course

Collaboration failures are visible to the whole business. Dropped calls, failed phone registrations, poor voice quality, and a rushed CUCM upgrade can each turn a normal Monday into an outage. IT Directors running Cisco CUCM, Webex Calling, or hybrid deployments need engineers who can design, secure, and troubleshoot these systems without escalating every issue to outside help.

Role fit: This intermediate course suits collaboration engineers, voice specialists, and network administrators who already support Cisco environments. Assign it to IT Practitioners preparing for the CCNP Collaboration 350-801 CLCOR exam or owning day-to-day unified communications operations.

Risk and compliance: The course covers X.509 certificates, SRTP, SSO, SIP OAuth, and toll fraud prevention in CUCM, which support security reviews and reduce fraud exposure. Upgrade skills stress taking backups first and knowing when to use the CLI instead of the GUI.

Time investment: The course runs about 63.5 hours across 72 skills. Plan a multi-month cadence, and sequence skills by role, such as dial plans and security for CUCM admins and QoS for network staff.

Change management: The instruction connects configuration knowledge with practical troubleshooting techniques, helping your team identify call setup, teardown, SDP, and security issues without creating new production risk.

Hands-on lab challenges for MQC and LLQ QoS configuration let your team practice in a Virtual Labs environment before changing production.

Team Impact

How this training helps your team succeed

IT teams complete this training to keep voice, video, and messaging services running when the business depends on them. The course works through situations collaboration engineers actually face. A remote site reports choppy phone calls when a network link is saturated. A routing change causes out-of-order RTP packets. A registration issue requires engineers to trace SIP messages and endpoint behavior across the collaboration environment.

  • Fewer self-inflicted outages: Your team learns safe upgrade and recovery practices, including backing up applications before major changes, understanding the separate switch-version step, and falling back to the CLI when Tomcat or web services are down. Engineers also learn how to gather diagnostic data without making an active incident harder to resolve.
  • Faster, lower-effort endpoint rollouts: Engineers build repeatable endpoint rollout and registration processes that reduce manual phone configuration and keep senior staff focused on project work.
  • Quicker resolution of registration and login issues: Team Leads gain a repeatable method for tracing failures through VLAN, DHCP option 150, DNS, TFTP, NTP, and LDAP sync. The method also covers diagnosing SSO and SIP OAuth login loops caused by identity mismatches.
  • Reliable call quality and controlled call exposure: Practitioners build end-to-end QoS policies with MQC and LLQ in hands-on labs. They configure partitions, calling search spaces, and route patterns, and they implement toll fraud prevention to protect against unauthorized calling.

For organizations moving to hybrid or cloud collaboration, the course also covers registering the Webex App to CUCM and configuring CUBE as a local gateway to Webex Calling. Teams can phase migrations while maintaining existing call control.

After completion

Capabilities your team walks away with

Knowledge

  • How on-premises, cloud (Webex), and hybrid collaboration deployment models differ, and when an organization would choose each
  • How SIP signaling and SDP set up, modify, and tear down calls, including hold, resume, and transfer behavior
  • How CUCM dial plan elements work together: partitions, calling search spaces, route patterns, route lists and groups, translation patterns, and toll fraud prevention
  • How collaboration security fits together: X.509 certificates, TLS handshakes, SRTP, OAuth for SIP registration, and SSO integration
  • Why foundational network and identity services, including DNS and DHCP, support endpoint registration and user access
  • How QoS classification and queuing protect voice and video traffic end to end

Ability

  • Plan and run CUCM cluster upgrades through the GUI or CLI, including taking backups first and completing the switch version step
  • Deploy endpoints manually, through self-provisioning, with activation codes, or at scale using the Bulk Administration Tool
  • Troubleshoot registration failures by checking VLAN, DHCP, DNS, TFTP, and CUCM connectivity in order
  • Diagnose SSO and SIP OAuth login loops caused by identity provider name ID mismatches
  • Configure a CUBE local gateway to route calls between CUCM and Webex Calling, and troubleshoot IOS XE dial peers and SIP profiles without overloading the gateway with debugs
  • Build and verify QoS configurations for voice and video traffic, and review CUCM configuration with supported administration tools

Frequently Asked Questions

Which roles on my team should be assigned this course?

It is best suited to collaboration engineers, voice specialists, network administrators, and senior support staff who operate CUCM, Webex App calling, SIP, QoS, LDAP, SSO, and certificates. It is rated intermediate, so it fits staff who already work in Cisco collaboration environments.

How long does the course take per learner?

The course runs about 63 hours of training content across more than 70 skills. Many teams assign it in phases by operational domain, such as security, routing, endpoint deployment, troubleshooting, and QoS, rather than all at once.

Which certification exam does this course align to?

The course is built around the Cisco 350-801 CLCOR exam, the core exam for CCNP Collaboration. It covers topics including collaboration design, security, CUCM administration, SIP call flow, dial plans, QoS, and troubleshooting.

Does the course include hands-on practice?

Yes. CBT Nuggets Virtual Labs let learners configure production-like QoS policies on routers, including class maps, policy maps, policing, shaping, WRED, and verification with show policy-map interface output. Each lab task includes a text solution and a walkthrough video.

How can I use this course to reduce operational risk across my team?

The content targets common sources of incidents, including certificate management, LDAP and SSO integration, NTP and DNS dependencies, call routing errors, and toll fraud. Training Managers can use Playlists to sequence these modules and Team Reporting to track completion.
