CompTIA AutoOps+ Beta Exam Launches for Infrastructure Teams

Registration is now open for the CompTIA AutoOps+ beta exam (AT1-001). The new certification is an opportunity for you to build a CompTIA credential that best serves the next generation of automation. The beta exam period runs up to Jan. 30, 2026.
What the AutoOps+ Certification Is For
Systems administrators used to install and manage servers and systems manually, but many now rely more on scripts and automation. CompTIA is launching AutoOps+ to update the skill path of IT infrastructure professionals. The certification validates one’s ability to automate operations across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem systems.
With this certification, CompTIA is acknowledging that automation skills are now core to infrastructure teams. You can use AutoOps+ to bridge classic sysadmin tasks with modern DevOps and automation workflows. CompTIA recommends this cert for people with two to three years of experience as a:
Cybersecurity Administrator
Linux Systems Administrator
Senior Technical Support Specialist
Participate in an Early Version of the Exam
When you take part in the CompTIA AutoOps+ beta, you get to see an early version of the exam. There are some steps needed to get a slot.
You’re expected to have a few years of infrastructure experience (typically two to three years).
You need to register via CompTIA’s site, complete a pre-qualification screening, and wait for notification of selection.
If selected, you take the beta exam for free.
Passing it earns you the AutoOps+ certification once the final version launches. Because it’s a beta, the results may not be readily available. CompTIA will release scores once the official version of the exam debuts in June 2026.
By participating in the beta exam, you contribute real feedback and test data to CompTIA’s exam development. This makes you contribute directly to the refinement of this credential.
How This Certification Supports Workforce Readiness
The new CompTIA credential helps your team in several key ways. It validates your team’s capability to fix issues using automated tools. It also shows that you can manage and automate systems on different platforms.
When your team embraces automation, you reduce errors and deploy faster. This frees the team to focus on other high-value work. CompTIA AutoOps+ gives you the credentials to show you’re ready for the changes ahead.
