For IT leaders
What IT leaders need to know before assigning this course
For IT leaders: When PMI-certified project managers let their PDUs lapse, the organization risks losing credentialed staff mid-portfolio, and stale skills show up as scope creep, slipped schedules, and weak sponsor engagement. This course helps IT teams earn PDUs toward PMI credential maintenance while working on the project problems they already face.
Role fit: Built for Project Managers, PMO staff, and Team Leads running predictive, agile, or hybrid IT projects. Two Project Sponsor sessions also make it useful for IT Directors and executives who sponsor projects.
Time investment: About 28 hours across 32 skills of roughly 50 minutes each. Learners can finish one skill per sitting, so a steady pace of a few skills per week fits into delivery work.
Change-management notes: The training connects PMBOK 6 processes with PMBOK 7 principles. It calls out common hybrid pitfalls, such as merging predictive and agile risk, so teams can standardize practices without throwing out what already works. Workshops use IT-relevant scenarios such as server installation, VMware work, and data migration. Hands-on exercises cover WBS, critical path, earned value, and risk, and some exercises come with downloadable mockups that teams can adapt as internal templates. Recovery and leadership labs walk through budget, scope, schedule, and team-morale crises before they happen on live projects.
