For IT leaders
What IT leaders need to know before assigning this course
Inconsistent proposals, contracts, and reports cost teams time and create risk: manual formatting breaks between versions, external links carry into shared files, and staff rebuild the same boilerplate by hand. IT Directors and Training Managers assign this course to standardize how teams build and protect high-stakes Word documents.
Role fit: Analysts, project managers, technical writers, admin and operations staff, and help desk practitioners who support Word users. Learners should already know Word basics; the course builds on the MO-110 Word Specialist course.
Time investment: About 9.3 hours across 11 skills, in sessions of roughly 45–60 minutes that fit into a normal work week.
Risk and governance: The training covers comparing and combining documents, managing versions, linking to and breaking links from external content, and protecting files. It also covers custom styles and templates that enforce consistent formatting.
Change management: Custom styles, templates, building blocks, and macros can be shared through templates, including the Normal template. Team Leads should agree on shared standards before rollout.
Each skill ends with a hands-on challenge using supplemental files. The course closes with MO-111 revision exercises and troubleshooting projects based on real document problems. Use Playlists to sequence MO-110 and MO-111 for your team, and Team Reporting to track progress toward certification readiness.
