For IT leaders
What IT leaders need to know before assigning this course
When vSphere 8 skills vary across a team, the result is inconsistent host builds, misconfigured HA and DRS, and storage or network issues that escalate to the one engineer who knows the environment. This course gives IT Directors a way to standardize that knowledge across the virtualization team.
Role fit: This course is built for junior virtualization engineers and IT Practitioners already working in vSphere. The opening fundamentals skills also let Team Leads onboard newer staff into the same path.
Time investment: About 60 hours across 56 skills, most under 90 minutes. Training Managers can assign weekly blocks tied to current work: networking with distributed switches (vDS), clusters (DRS, HA, Fault Tolerance, vCenter HA), storage (iSCSI multipathing, NFS, vSAN), and deployment and maintenance planning for vCenter and ESXi hosts.
Change management: Planning comes before deployment. That includes host preparation, uplink considerations, and licensing for advanced networking, so engineers bring that thinking into change plans instead of discovering it in production.
How CBT Nuggets supports the outcome: Many skills end with hands-on Virtual Labs and downloadable lab guides that mirror the demos. Engineers practice installing ESXi, deploying vCenter, enabling HA, and configuring iSCSI storage before touching your clusters. The course aligns to the VCP-DCV certification.
