With CBT Nuggets since: 2012

When I'm not making CBT Nuggets videos, you'll find me: Obsessively watching sitcoms/shows on Netflix or Hulu (seen EVERY episode of House, Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Rules of Engagement, Boston Legal, Community, The Original Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica and sadly, I could go on); reading; doing a Crossfit workout; playing guitar/singing in The Band Torn; doing projects around the home with my wife; blogging about mobile tech; working on a mobile tech consulting project; or hanging out in prison with the Kairos Prison Ministry.

The best part about being a trainer is: It's so cool helping people use mobile tech well instead of letting it use them. I'm truly concerned about some of the possible negative impacts of the web and mobile tech, i.e., texting while driving, social skills, attention span, stress/anxiety levels, information overload. I believe learning to use this technology well can help us all manage the onslaught of data being targeted right at our brains! Just remember, the most important mobile device feature is the "off" switch. We need to use that a bit more often.

I'm passionate about training because: Teach a person to fish, feed them for a lifetime." The world has serious ailments like disease, homelessness, and hunger. Other than fighting to improve those types of issues, teaching people anything of value has the most direct positive impact on society. We directly help people improve their lives by mastering knowledge and skills that improve their productivity, confidence, effectiveness and overall contribution to their community. If we help people, families, neighborhoods, communities get better, the world gets better.

Jim is currently working on an Evernote series. Current subscribers can watch completed videos now. Stay tuned for the series release announcement!
