How to Configure a Local Route Group

Local Route Groups are a component of the Cisco Unified Communications Manager or CUCM platform that are designed to limit the complexity of the CUCM platform for organizations with multiple sites. The Local Route Group feature reduces the number of route lists and route patterns that would be associated with a given location.

This allows organizations to create one generic route pattern and route it to the Local Route Group. In this scenario, the Local Route Group will have access to each location’s local gateway such that it can pass on this request without needing a direct mapping through the route list.

Local Route Groups can be configured directly through the Cisco Unified Communications Manager platform. This feature found within Route/Hunt within the Call Routing section can be configured with ease to greatly reduce your Cisco Unified Communications Manager environment's overhead and complexity.
