CompTIA CSA+ Changes to CySA+

CompTIA recently changed the acronym for its Cybersecurity Analyst exam from CSA+ to CySA+. CompTIA and its other partners are expected to fully implement the name switch by June 29, 2018.

CBT Nuggets subscribers will see the corresponding CompTIA security courses by Keith Barker updated much sooner. Keith recently released the first two courses aligned with the CySA+ certificate:

-CompTIA CySA+ Vulnerability Management-CompTIA CySA+ Threat Management

The exam and associated courses remain exactly the same despite this change, and still holds a prominent spot in CompTIA's cybersecurity certification path.

The exam was released in 2017, creating for the first time ever, a vendor-neutral cybersecurity career pathway for IT professionals to achieve cybersecurity mastery.

Importantly, CompTIA CySA+ fills the skills gap between CompTIA Security+ and the CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) exam. It remains a government-approved exam, meeting the ISO 17024 standard, and fulfilling Directive 8570.01-M requirements from the U.S. Department of Defense.

Content for the CySA+ stems from a combination of industry-wide survey feedback and contributions from CompTIA's team of subject matter experts and is developed and maintained by leading IT security experts.
