    CCNA Automation training FAQs

How much does the Cisco DevNet Associate certification cost?

If you can pass the 200-901 DEVASC on your first try, the Cisco DevNet Associate costs $300. It's not an especially challenging exam, designed to be the first step in a network automation career, but it still covers a number of topics related to software design, coding, application deployment, and networking that can be challenging for the unprepared. You should consider adding the cost of training and preparation to the $300 price tag for the DEVASC exam itself.

    Can you renew Cisco certifications?

Yes, you can definitely renew Cisco certifications, but the options and requirements available for each certification differ. Like most Cisco certs, the DevNet Associate certification is valid for three years, after which you have a few different options to renew it. The easiest way to renew the DevNet Associate certification is to earn any other Cisco certification at the associate or professional level. There are also continuing education credits you can earn by contributing to knowledge bases, taking courses, and more.

Is the DevNet Associate worth it?

Network automation isn't something every IT professional needs to know, but if you're interested in software development, DevOps, or automating network behavior, the DevNet Associate is definitely worth it. Earning it proves you have skills in programming, APIs, and automating Cisco networks, and helps keep you aligned with the industry-wide shift toward software-defined networking. Network automation as a career field is only going to deepen and expand, and the DevNet Associate is worth it as the first step on that path.

What is network automation and software-defined networking?

Network automation is a process of using tools, scripts and software to automate the configuration, management and operation of a network. Network automation reduces manual tasks as well as errors. Software-defined networking separates network control from hardware, enabling centralized management and dynamic adjustments. The DevNet Associate is an introduction to the expansive career field of network automation and software-defined networking, which can become very technical and abstract.

Who should take this DevNet Associate course?

First of all, anyone who wants to earn the DevNet Associate should take this course. Whether you're new to IT and decided network automation is the future you're interested in, or you're an old dog looking to learn new networking tricks, this course is the perfect introduction to the skills and knowledge the DevNet Associate validates. Network engineers, software developers and IT professionals who want to bridge networking and programming skills do really well with this course, as do aspiring DevOps engineers and network programmers.

Who is CCNA Automation training for?

This DevNet training is perfect for IT professionals and DevOps engineers looking to master network automation, Cisco APIs, and prepare for the latest DevNet Associate certification.
