Where teams start
Most Popular Containers & Kubernetes Courses
Teams often start with Docker to set a shared baseline for building images and running containers. Next, they assign CKA to platform owners and CKAD to the application developers who ship workloads to Kubernetes.
Certified Kubernetes Administrator
This Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) training takes systems administrators from cluster setup through scaling, security, and troubleshooting. Taught with real-world examples, it covers installing and configuring Kubernetes clusters for high availability, deploying and scaling workloads with ReplicaSets, Deployments, and autoscalers, securing clusters with RBAC, Pod Security, and access control, managing storage and networking with EBS, ClusterIP, Ingress, and network policies, and monitoring and debugging workloads with probes, the metrics server, and debugging tools, including on AWS EKS. For an IT Director whose platform team runs containerized applications, the CKA is the recognized way to confirm that administrators can keep the application lifecycle reliable and efficient. Individual administrators earn the same Linux Foundation certification.

CKAD
This intermediate-level Linux Foundation CKAD training covers the objectives in the CKAD exam, which is the one required exam to earn the Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) certification. Use this CKAD exam prep to get certified, and validate your ability to design, build, configure, and expose cloud native applications for Kubernetes.
Trevor Sullivan
Red Hat Certified Specialist in Containers
This intermediate Red Hat Certified Specialist in Containers (EX188) training prepares learners to deploy, manage, and secure containerized applications in Red Hat, as well as troubleshoot and optimize container performance for scalable and efficient cloud environments. Learn how to work with containers, focusing on making CI/CD pipelines more efficient, and minimizing friction between development and operations teams.

Frequently asked questions about Containers & Kubernetes training
Common questions IT directors ask when evaluating Containers & Kubernetes training for their team.
Which roles and experience levels do these Containers & Kubernetes courses serve?
CKA fits systems administrators, platform engineers, and DevOps practitioners with about a year of orchestration experience who are comfortable with Linux and kubectl. CKAD suits application developers working with a DevOps team and DevOps engineers with about six months of experience. Docker gives DevOps teams a common baseline. EX188 fits developers and systems administrators with one to two years of Linux experience.
Which certifications do these courses prepare a team for?
The courses prepare learners for the Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), the Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), and the Red Hat Certified Developer in Cloud-native Applications (EX188). The vendor issues each certification, and CBT Nuggets prepares the learner for it.
How should a Training Manager sequence a team path?
Start with Docker or EX188 to standardize how the team builds images and runs containers. Then assign CKA to the people who install, secure, and upgrade clusters, and assign CKAD to the developers who configure and expose applications on Kubernetes. Team members newer to Linux may benefit from RHCSA (EX200) training before EX188.
How much time should we plan per learner?
Time varies by course. CKAD runs about 47 hours across 46 skills, and EX188 runs about 6.3 hours across 8 skills. Both can be assigned in weekly learning blocks so engineers keep up with their operational work.
Is there hands-on practice, not just video?
Yes. CKAD has learners build a practice cluster, CKA covers upgrading and maintaining clusters on AWS EKS, and Docker walks through deployments to Kubernetes, Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, and Azure. The platform also offers virtual labs, practice exams, and pre- and post-assessments.
How can an IT Director track progress and use it for compliance or onboarding?
Team reporting shows per-learner progress and completion, cohort and group views, and completion exports you can use as audit evidence. That gives you one place to assign container and Kubernetes training to new hires and existing staff and confirm the training was completed.
