Trainers Answer: Tech in the Movies
Recently, we asked our social media fans: What movie do you think most accurately portrays IT/tech?
We then reached our to some of out trainers to get their answers to the same question. Here's what they had to say:
Jeremy: "Firewall" with Harrison Ford. He types an ACL entry on a router which is totally bogus and made me laugh…but at least they had him configuring the right device!
Scott: Accurate portrayal of tech in Hollywood? What kind of altered reality are we living in? 😉
Greg: The Hobbit. (Just think about that answer.)
Shawn: I'm going to say optimistically, "Star Trek" — someday.
Tim: No Hollywood movies that I can think of. Perhaps some documentaries on the hacking community.
Garth: Office Space. (Many others agree with you, Garth!)
Anthony: The Matrix – just kidding. 🙂 I think most recently The Social Network did a great job of portraying the technology against the interesting human stories.
Jim: Iron Man 1, 2, 3
Keith: Not a movie, but the Dilbert series does a fun representation of IT.
Chris: I'd have to say Star Trek tries the hardest, but the Firefly TV series was a bit more accurate.
Steve C.: NONE
