Jeremy Cioara recently wrapped up his latest IT Expertise course, focusing on how to migrate a business to Office 365, Microsoft’s subscription service that provides software and services such as Excel and Sharepoint.
We reached out to Jeremy for insight about his new course and how you can get the most from his training.
Q: Why should companies train their IT professionals in this technology? What value does it bring?
Microsoft Office 365 has the potential to increase business productivity immensely, but it only works if someone uses it. CBT Nuggets IT Expertise training is different — rather than focusing on how to do something (which is becoming increasingly simpler), we track a real-life scenario where I move an entire organization to this technology.
Think of it as Reality TV meets IT Training. You see the good, the bad, and the ugly! The learner gains the value of experiencing an organization move to Office 365! As an added bonus, the learner sees the technical processes used along the way.
Q: Who should learn how to implement, configure, and administer Office 365? What kind of career will these skills set you up for in the IT industry?
Any organization (and learner who wants to move the organization) that is moving to a more modern, seamless, and collaborative way of communicating information in a business should learn this skill. The IT Expertise genre of training embraces a “business first” versus a “technology first” mindset to ensure Office 365 meets business objectives and aligns with business adoption of the technology. THIS is how IT team members need to “think” in our modern age.
Q: Any out-of-the-box tips for learners to get the most out of your course?
The IT Expertise training method itself is “out of the box” ;o)
Q: What’s one real-world application someone can expect to use, thanks to this course?
For the first module of this course (pending release), a learner will be able to federate their on-premise Active Directory environment with Azure AD (which powers Office 365).
Q: What course(s) or certification(s) should learners complete before diving into your IT Expert: Office 365 Domain Structure, ADMT, and Federations course?
Having a general familiarization with Active Directory will be especially helpful. Just reviewing this Nugget before jumping in is ideal.
Q: What course(s) or certification(s) should learners look to jump into after they complete your IT Expert: Office 365 Domain Structure, ADMT, and Federations course?
If a learner wishes to become certified, that’s up to them. CBT Nuggets IT Expertise training is designed to walk a learner through how to actually move a business to Office 365 by “videotaping” the process of…actually moving a business to Office 365!
