Worst IT-themed Halloween Costume Fails

IT-themed costumes have the potential to create a real wow experience at Halloween, but then again, there’s always the risk of the concept falling flat. As IT pros, we’ve all seen some pretty horrifying attempts at tech humor in costumes that are cringe worthy. Here are five tech-themed costumes to avoid this year.

  1. Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, etc. profiles
It has been done. A lot. The novelty has worn off by now.
  2. Internet or tech personalities (i.e., Mark Zuckerberg, or, as seen below: Steve Jobs.)
These never turn out as well as you think they will… it’s best to avoid it altogether!
  3. Error messages or 404 pages
Again, it has been done, so why recycle an overdone idea? And, we believe you’re capable of so much more!
  4. Candy Crush Saga
If we have to tell you why this is a bad idea, you should probably just stop reading now.
  5. The Cloud
This is another one that’s been done for Halloweens past. And while not an inherently bad idea, the trick or the treat of it lies in the execution. If you’re clever and particularly crafty, this one has the potential to do well… and then there are the other times…

Avoid these costume pitfalls and you just might become a Halloween hero!
