Juniper products have emerged as Cisco’s biggest competitor to date, and with their growing popularity, the need for IT pros who are well trained in Juniper products has grown exponentially. CBT Nuggets trainer Anthony Sequeira recently completed the third in his seven-course series focusing on Juniper JNCIS-ENT (JN0-343) certification. In this course, Anthony takes on OSPF, guiding learners through a deep-dive into the particulars of mastering concepts, operation, and functionality of OSPF; configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting OSPF; and understand realms.
We asked Anthony about his new course.
Q: Why should companies train their IT professionals in this technology? What value does it bring?
Look in most data centers today and you will see a nice mix of Juniper and Cisco equipment in the areas of routing, switching, security, and other networking niches. While Cisco training is very easy to find as they are the market leader, excellent Juniper training is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack. This course is that needle!
Q: From a learner perspective, what did you keep in mind when creating this course?
I examined other training options in the industry and did something the others lacked. I clearly delineated the OSPF theory from hands-on practical application, making this course even more valuable for a wider variety of students.
Q: Any out-of-the-box tips for learners to get the most out of your course?
Be sure to check out my webinar on options for Hands-on practice with Juniper. This will really help. Also, do not forget to use the flashcards I created to go with this course (available in the downloadable NuggetLab files on the course page).
Q: What’s one real-world application someone can expect to use, thanks to this course?
Students can connect, test, and then fully configure an OSPF multi-area network using Juniper equipment after completing this course.
Q: What was your favorite Nugget to create?
I think my favorite Nugget to create was the Hands-on Lab Nugget where we examined the LSA Types that really make OSPF function!
Q: What’s the one thing you hope learners take away from this training?
I hope that students realize how fun and valuable a mastery of Juniper training can be.
