Ready to increase your IT security savvy? Keith Barker’s Cisco CCNP Security 300-207 SITCS training course has been released! You’ll learn the ins and outs of various Cisco threat control technologies during the 25-video course. We caught up with Keith to get his thoughts on the training, and how you can be successful learning all of it!
Q: Why should companies train their IT professionals in this technology? What value does it have? Many attacks against networks can be launched by internal users’ unintentional web and email usage. Understanding what the Email Security Appliance and Web Security Appliance can do to assist in mitigating some of that risk provides tremendous value.
Q: From a learner perspective, what did you keep in mind when creating this course?
I wanted to provide a good overview and perspective of where the various Cisco security products that we cover in this course fit in.
Q: Any out-of-the-box tips for learners to get the most out of your course?
This course covers some of the Cisco legacy products, which are important to be aware of for certification.
Q: What’s one real-world application someone can expect to use, thanks to this course?
Protecting users from malicious email and websites by integrating security appliances.
Q: What was your favorite Nugget to create?
The last one. But seriously, my favorite Nugget was the one that demonstrated the GUI interfaces of the email and web security appliances.
Q: What’s the one thing you hope learners take away from this training?
Awareness of additional products that can be used to assist in creating a secure network, such as the email and web security appliances.
