IMG_3334Busy, busy, and busy! That describes the month of October at CBT Nuggets. From new courses to contests, there was a little bit of everything!

New Courses

We released seven new training courses this month, adding more than 60 hours of training to our library! Here’s what’s new:

Citrix XenDesktop 7 CCA-AD CCP-AD with Greg Shields

This 23-video course with Greg covers Citrix XenDesktop 7 fundamentals such as architecture and components, managing user profiles, Configuring Citrix XenServer for XenDesktop 7, and more.

Greg also covers the objectives for the Citrix 1Y0-200 and 1Y0-300 exams. Both exams are required to earn Citrix Certified Associate and Citrix Certified Professional certifications

Exam Walkthrough: Cisco ICND1/CCENT 100-101 with Keith and Anthony

Prepping for the ICND1/CCENT 100-101 exam? Don’t miss this course from Keith Barker and Anthony Sequeira! In this 20-video course, Keith and Anthony help you prepare by explaining exam logic and strategy, including a breakdown of the five different question styles. They also solve realistic exam questions.

It’s highly recommended that students have watched Jeremy Cioara’s “Cisco CCENT/CCNA ICND1 100-101” course before watching the “Exam Walkthrough: Cisco ICND1/CCENT 100-101” course.

Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 70-331 with Tim Warner

Dive into SharePoint Server 2013! In this 35-video course, Tim covers essential topics such as designing a SharePoint logical architecture, planning and configuring authentication, and managing and troubleshooting SharePoint Server 2013.

This course also prepares you to take the 70-331 exam: Core Solutions of Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013.

Cisco CCNA Data Center 640-916 DCICT with Anthony Sequeira

Anthony explains the ins and outs of Cisco data center technologies during this 25-video course. He covers data center architecture, virtualizing network devices, and UCS management.

This course also prepares you for the 640-916 exam, the second of two exams that must be passed in order to earn the Cisco CCNA Data Center certification.

IPv4 Subnetting with Keith Barker

Join Keith as he guides you step-by-step through IPv4 subnetting. In this 16-video course, Keith covers binary, subnet masks,  and VLSM. The aim of this course is to bring subnetting with IPv4 into real-world focus.

 CHISP with Michael Shannon

Seeking a career in healthcare IT? Then you might want to earn the Certified Health Informatics Systems Professional (CHISP) certification.

This 19-video course, Michael covers not only the topics you need to know to pass the CHISP exam, but also the skills to become a successful healthcare IT professional. Michael covers data types, healthcare terminology, electronic health records software, and information and data security.

Salesforce with Jim Anthony

Join Jim as he guides you through the basics of Salesforce in this 20-video course. Learn to navigate Salesforce, build custom reports, manage contacts, and more.

Whether you’re a sales rep or an account executive, this training will help put the power of Salesforce at your fingertips.

With our Transcender practice exams, you can face test day with confidence.

Introducing Virtual LabsVirtual lab icon

We are excited to announced that CBT Nuggets now offers virtual labs!

Supplement regular video training with hands-on experience in virtual environment. These labs were created by CBT Nuggets trainers to enhance your training experience.

Currently, virtual labs are available for SQL Server 2012 70-461Apache Hadoop, SQL Server 2012 70-462, and .NET 98-361 training courses. And stay tuned, because we are adding virtual labs to more courses!

To launch a virtual lab, go to the course page and click “start lab” under the Virtual Labs icon. Two windows will launch: One will load the lab environment, the other will contain the lab manual.

Currently, virtual labs only run in Windows. Supported browsers are Internet Explorer, Chrome (extension required), and Firefox (add-on required).

AWS and Salesforce Webinars

Webinars are a great way to pick up insights on new technologies, certifications, etc. from CBT Nuggets trainers. Plus, they’re free! Here’s a list of our upcoming webinars:

Updated iPad/iPhone apps

Earlier this month, we released iPad and iPhone app updates. Updates include:

  • Speed control: You can watch videos at four different speeds, up to 2X faster.
  • Airplay: Ability to wirelessly stream video training from your iOS devices to HDTVs makes it easier to train anytime, anywhere.

If you have a current CBT Nuggets subscription, you can download the apps through iTunes.

Referral Madness

The First Annual CBT Nuggets’ YOU Can Make Your Friends More Cool by Referring Them to the Joy of Watching, Learning, and Conquering With Our Training-A-Thon took place earlier this month.IMG_3288

During the 3-hour live event, a number of trainers and employees showed off their hidden talents. Highlights included Garth Schulte trying to eat very hot Buffalo wings, a CBT Nuggets swag fashion show, and a pie eating contest! If you missed the live fun, you can watch the recording here.

NuggetLOVE Tops $165,000 in Donations

Our most recent NuggetLOVE effort raised $8,862 for Parenting Now!, a nonprofit that provides support and education for young parents in Lane County.

Since establishing NuggetLOVE in April 2012, we’ve raised $165,780 for various nonprofit organizations. We thank you for your support of CBT Nuggets — it plays a huge part in helping us support nonprofits via NuggetLOVE!
