PowerShell: Summit set for later this month

To say that Don Jones is excited about next month’s PowerShell Summit is an understatement.

“This will be the first time that this kind of content has been available to folks who aren’t PowerShell MVPs,” said the veteran CBT Nuggets trainer. “We’re going to have a half-dozen team members speaking and attending sessions with us, which is pretty unique.”Don

Don is organizing the three-day event scheduled for April 22-24 at the Microsoft campus in Redmond, Wash., of which CBT Nuggets is a proud sponsor. The summit will feature presentations from PowerShell experts, opportunities to learn advanced techniques and the chance to interact with other PowerShell users.

“It’s very deep, very intense content, which you can’t find at conferences or even in traditional classes,” Don said. “Unlike conferences, where speakers are usually just a few well-known experts, we’re featuring sessions by regular folks in our community.”

And Don isn’t the only one excited about the PowerShell Summit. The event oversold and has waiting list of about 100 people. The good news is that Jones hopes to land a larger venue for next year’s event. He encourages people not wait long after registration opens for the 2014 summit.

“It’s my hope that the event can grow in much the same way as the Professional Association for SQL Server (PASS) has grown over the years,” he said.
