April was another busy month here at CBT Nuggets! We released some new series, hosted a Twitter chat and are in the midst of fun congests. Read all about all of this and more!

New series released

BackTrack and Kali Linux

Keith Barker dubs BackTrack and Kali Linux the “Swiss Army knife” of penetration testing, information gathering and vulnerability assessment tools. BackTrack provides users access to a wide range of security tools, from port scanners to password crackers.new_nugget

Topics covered in Keith’s engaging videos include: configuring a static IP address, bypassing MAC address filters and implementing denial of service attacks.

Cisco CCNA/CCENT ICND1 100-101

Trainer Jeremy Cioara takes you through everything you need to know for the ICND1 v2 exam, 100-101. In this series, trainer Jim Anthony shows you how to get the most from Evernote on your laptop or mobile device.

Microsoft SQL Server 2012 70-463

We’re searching for innovative ways to create our hallmark gg’s. Make the gg’s out of whatever you can think of — office supplies, food, anything — and snap a photo.

Submit your gg creation via this app on our Facebook page by 1 p.m. Pacific Time Monday, May 6.

On May 7, CBT Nuggets trainers will pick the winners during a live YouTube broadcast. Winners will get fame, glory, and Nugget swag!

Nugget Love 

Our charity initiative continues to make a big difference. For the month of April, we raised $8,062 for Lane County Youth for Christ, a nonprofit that strives to improve the lives of children and young adults by helping them make better choices, improve their skills and connect them with role models.IMG_0944b

During March, we raised $9,250 for South Valley Area SMART (Start Making a Reader Today). SMART is dedicated to promoting literacy among children by providing them with books and pairing them up with adult readers, as well as developing readers for life.

Greg and Don at TechEd

Two CBT Nuggets trainers are participating in TechEd 2013, Microsoft’s marquee event for IT professionals.

Don Jones and Greg Shields, both Microsoft MVPs, will be on hand  in New Orleans to present, share their expertise and mingle with attendees. If you plan to be there, make sure to catch them in action!
