To say that Don Jones is excited about next month’s PowerShell Summit is an understatement.
“This will be the first time that this kind of content has been available to folks who aren’t PowerShell MVPs,” said the veteran CBT Nuggets trainer. “We’re going to have a half-dozen team members speaking and attending sessions with us, which is pretty unique.”
Don is organizing the three-day event scheduled for April 22-24 at the Microsoft campus in Redmond, Wash., of which CBT Nuggets is a proud sponsor. The summit will feature presentations from PowerShell experts, opportunities to learn advanced techniques and the chance to interact with other Powershell users.
“It’s very deep, very intense content, which you can’t find at conferences or even in traditional classes,” Don said. “Unlike conferences, where speakers are usually just a few well-known experts, we’re featuring sessions by regular folks in our community.”
And Don isn’t the only one excited about the PowerShell Summit. The event oversold and has waiting list of about 100 people. The good news is that Jones hopes to land a larger venue for next year’s event. He encourages people not wait long after registration opens for the 2013 summit.
“It’s my hope that the event can grow in much the same way as the Professional Association for SQL Server (PASS) has grown over the years,” he said.

Like a display of the Northern Lights, the first Trainerpalooza of 2013 has come and gone and left us awed.
James Conrad, Keith Barker, Steve Caseley, Tim Warner, Garth Schulte, and Chris Ward visited CBT Nuggets HQ last week to work, play, and teach.
One of the highlights was a live Q&A session via, what else, streaming video. During the hour-long event, they shared their expertise, answered questions submitted by you and shared a lot of laughs.
If you missed the chat or simply want to rewatch it, you can see the video on our YouTube channel.
The trainers also participated in the first CBT Nuggets dance video. Yes, that’s right — dance. Check out the trainers’ moves here. Who knew they had such rhythm? (Or are we confused about what “rhythm” is?)
Coming soon: The second Trainerpalooza of 2013!

CBT Nuggets in the Press
Speaking of Bitcoin, the digital currency is getting quite a bit of press recently.
We were in some of that press, including an article in The WHIR about our training series. CBT Nuggets also made an appearance in a TechWeek Europe article on Bitcoin.
Keith Barker got some additional press over at TechTarget for his IPv6 series.
