NuggetLOVE is a new project for us, but it’s quickly become a favorite. Here’s a cool story about our most recent efforts:
In September, NuggetLOVE was humbled to support Honor Flight. This organization transports veterans to Washington, DC, to visit war memorials. After hearing how meaningful these trips are to participants, and how sharply the WWII veteran population is decreasing, CBT Nuggets decided to step up and make sure even more veterans would get to make the trip: We are sponsoring an additional flight from Oregon to Washington, DC.
The flight leaves in October and will transport 25 veterans, most of whom would have otherwise have had to wait until next year to take the trip. And two of our own employees volunteered to go as well, to provide support.
CBT Nuggets CEO Dan Charbonneau gets ready for the camera.
This donation caught the eye of a local news station, which showed up at Nugget HQ to film a story.
That news report, in turn, caught the eye of a local dentist, who has offered to provide the veterans with free dental care!
Finally, another CBT Nuggets employee will be helping Honor Flight compile audio and visual material to create a video.
It just goes to show that we can all make a positive impact. We’ll be sure to share stories and photos from this month’s flight; in the meantime, you can read about a prior Honor Flight trip here and see a photo essay here.
