Welcome to our March newsletter. It’s finally spring here in the Pacific Northwest, and we have plenty of Nugget news and happenings to share, so let’s get started…
PayPal Now Available at CBT Nuggets
CBT Nuggets now offers customers the option of purchasing with PayPal through our website. There’s no question PayPal is a growing worldwide payment platform, allowing people to send money without sharing financial information, with the flexibility to pay using their account balances, bank accounts, credit cards or promotional financing.
Have you purchased from us yet using PayPal? If so, how was your experience? We would love to hear from you.
New Product Releases Announced
CBT Nuggets has released two new series: Scrum Certification, and Microsoft Programming .NET 4 Software Development Fundamentals 98-361.
Microsoft Programming .NET 4 Software Development Fundamentals 98-361 will benefit anyone looking to pass the 98-361 exam, start their software development career, or brush up on their skills. Trainer Garth Schulte acts as your guide to C# programming, covering all of the basics and then some.
Scrum Certification, taught by Project Management guru Steve Caseley, looks at how Scrum works, including roles, certifications, and similarities and differences between Scrum and traditional development approaches. Both of these series are now available streaming. DVDs and electronic downloads will be available soon.

Linux In the Real World
CBT Nuggets announces a new IT training series based on user feedback. “Linux in the Real World” is designed to fill the gap between knowledge needed to earn a certification and real-world experience.
The first video is now available to view, free of charge. After watching the video, viewers can take a survey and suggest subjects and issues they’d like to see in future videos. Trainer Shawn Powers will base the rest of the videos in the series on the feedback received.
“Linux in the Real World” is the second user-driven series from CBT Nuggets, following the extremely successful “Cisco CCNA Labs: Cisco for the Real World” with training legend Jeremy Cioara.
Nugget Hero Contest Deadline Reminder
Just a friendly reminder that the Nugget Hero essay contest deadline is only a few days away. Submit your entry here by April 1, 5:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. We’ll choose the three most compelling submissions, then post them on our Facebook page and let Nugget Nation determine the winning entry. The winner will be announced on our blog. Closed Captioning Beta Launched
CBT Nuggets is excited to announce we have launched a Language Beta Program, offering closed captioning in 17 languages. In order to change to a specific language, click on the “Language Beta Program” button in the top right. Our beta campaign allows people to watch “Routing: Internet Connectivity,” the 12th video in the “Cisco for the Real World” series by trainer Jeremy Cioara.
The purpose is to test the effectiveness of closed captioning for our IT library. After users watch the video, they are directed to complete a short survey, also translated into their native language. The compilation of these surveys will help us discover if closed captioning/subtitling is beneficial for users. Our goal is to expand our IT training internationally by offering closed captioning as the first step.
Earlier this month the CBT Nuggets team welcomed our largest group of trainers yet to Nugget headquarters for Trainerpalooza II. During their visit, Bobby Meador, Shawn Powers, Chris Ward and Timothy Warner were gracious to give interviews and Q&A sessions with the marketing and sales departments, create promotional videos for their upcoming releases, and sit in on a live Google+ trainer hangout with Nugget Nation. We consider our trainers the rock stars of the IT world, and these events are ideal opportunities for everyone at CBT Nuggets to learn from them, and even get to know them better. See our blog post to read more about Trainerpalooza II, along with a few photos.
In January, we hosted Trainerpalooza I with trainers Jeremy Cioara, James Conrad and Michael Shannon, followed by a solo visit from Project Management expert Steve Caseley last month.
