Intro

00:00:00 - Hello everybody and welcome to the CentOS System Administrator
00:00:05 - Prep course.
00:00:06 - Now I'm going to describe a little bit more
00:00:08 - about what I mean by a Prep course,
00:00:11 - once we get this course started.
00:00:13 - But I just want to take a couple minutes here to welcome you.
00:00:16 - To tell you how excited I am about the series
00:00:19 - that you're about to start with me.
00:00:21 - We're going to learn about CentOS
00:00:23 - which is a very popular Linux distribution.
00:00:27 - And it's used in server rooms all over the planet,
00:00:30 - and by the end of this course, you're
00:00:32 - going to feel comfortable using this.
00:00:34 - Even if you're a Debian person, or an Ubuntu person,
00:00:38 - or hopefully, even if you're a Windows person just coming
00:00:41 - to Linux for the first time, I think
00:00:43 - that this course is going to be really helpful to get people
00:00:47 - started in an RPM-based distribution like CentOS.
00:00:51 - Now this is a picture of me.
00:00:53 - I'm the one on the left.
00:00:54 - The one on the right, his name is Smokey.
00:00:57 - I'm terrified of horses, so I just
00:01:00 - like to pretend that Smokey is not there.
00:01:02 - But a lot of people like horses, so I
00:01:04 - thought that it would be good to put a picture of a horse
00:01:06 - instead of just me.
00:01:07 - I hope that you are as excited about the CentOS System
00:01:11 - Administrator Prep course as I am.
00:01:13 - It's going to be a ton of fun.
00:01:15 - I hope that you are ready to learn a lot,
00:01:17 - but I also hope you're ready to have fun.
00:01:20 - So spin up your virtual hosting platform
00:01:23 - and get ready for some hard core mirrored action.
00:01:27 - I hope that this tiny little introduction has
00:01:30 - been informative, and I'd like to thank you for viewing.
