Cisco's PIX firewall stands guard at the perimeter of many well-defended networks. The Cisco Adaptive Security Appliances (ASA) combine the PIX firewall, intrusion prevention, network antivirus, and VPN into a single device that will soon take the place of many PIX firewalls.
